The Rapid Action Battalion has arrested Awami League leader and Bakshiganj Shadhurpara union parishad chairman Mahmudul Alam Babu, the prime accused in the in the murder case of journalist Golam Rabbani Nadim.

RAB director (media) Khandaker Al Moin disclosed the information on Saturday.

The police on Thursday and Friday detained six associates of Mahmudul Alam Babu, who took part in the murder of journalist Golam Rabbani Nadim in Jamalpur’s Bakshiganj upazila.

Nadim died on Thursday afternoon while undergoing treatment in Mymensingh after being attacked in Jamalpur’s Bakshiganj upazila on Wednesday night.

He was the Bakshiganj correspondent of Ekattor TV and the Daily Manabjamin and the Jamalpur correspondent of Banglanews24.com.
